ACB registers disproportionate assets case against Motor Transport Clerk, Searches conducted in Jammu

Jammu: The Jammu & Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (J&K ACB) on Saturday said that it has registered a case FIR No. 07/2021 in Police Station ACB Jammu against Charanjeet Singh, working as Computer Operator/Motor Transport Clerk in Police Control Room, Jammu.
A statement issued by the J&K ACB on Saturday said that the instant case was registered on the outcome of a verification conducted into the allegations regarding acquisition/possession of assets disproportionate to known sources of income by Charanjeet Singh, working as Computer Operator/MT Clerk in PCR Jammu.
Stating that the verification had revealed that suspect is in possession of assets which includes immovable properties in Udhampur and Jammu and movable properties in the shape of car and other costly electronics gadgets, jewellery etc, the J&K ACB in it’s statement further said “ the value of the assets found in possession of public servant namely Charanjeet Singh S/o Mohinder Singh R/o H. No. 19, Ward No. 17, Salian Tallab Udhampur A/P Plot No. 73 Sector 7 Lane No. 8 Roop Nagar Housing Colony Ward No. 62 Jammu and the expenditure incurred by him is grossly disproportionate to his known sources of income, the aforementioned facts constitute commission of offences punishable under section 5 (1) (e) r/w 5 (2) J&K PC Act Svt. 2006, accordingly FIR has been registered”.
Revealing that as part of investigation searches were conducted at two residential houses located at Roop Nagar, Jammu and Salian Tallab, Udhampur belonging to accused Charanjeet Singh after obtaining search warrant from the Court, the statement issued by J&K ACB also said that during the course of search, some incriminating documents were found and seized , adding that “further investigation of the case is going on”.
