IGP Kashmir chairs Kashmir security at officers meet at PCR Srinagar

Srinagar: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Shri Vijay Kumar-IPS chaired a detailed security review meeting at PCR Kashmir, senior officers of Police and CAPF attended the meeting.
The meeting was attended by IG CRPF Srinagar Charu Sinha, IG CRPF Kashmir Ops Sector Deepak Ratan, DIG CKR, DIG BSF, DIG CRPF South Srinagar, DIG CRPF North Srinagar, DIG SSB Special Ops, SSP Srinagar and the meeting was virtually attended by DIG SKR, DIG NKR, DIGs CRPF Awantipora, Anantnag, Baramulla and all District SSPs of Kashmir Zone.
At the onset of the meeting, IGP Kashmir was briefed by the Officers about various security measures adopted by them for ensuring peaceful atmosphere and stability in the valley. They also presented an overview of the steps initiated by them to counter the challenges faced at the ground level. IGP Kashmir was also briefed about the security measures put in place for the summer season especially in view of expected huge rush of tourists in Kashmir valley.
While interacting with the officers, IGP Kashmir discussed the initiatives taken for the maintenance of law and order besides anti-terrorist operations in the valley. He further stressed on the officers to ensure better synergy and coordination among different security agencies at the ground level.
He urged upon the officers to strengthen the general security grid and ensure peace in the Valley. IGP Kashmir also appreciated the officers of Police & Security Forces for their commitment towards their duties and contribution in maintenance of law and order and in conducting successful anti-terror operations with no collateral damage. He emphasized upon them that such efforts and coordination should continue to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in the Valley.
While discussing challenges with regard to security in view of the tourist season he enjoined upon the officers to handle the situations with utmost care so that prevailing peaceful atmosphere is not vitiated by people inimical to stability odf peace and security in Kashmir. IGP Kashmir further said that persons involved in disturbing the peaceful atmosphere should be dealt strictly under law. He said that stringent actions shall be taken against such elements including trouble makers and rumour mongers. He has also instructed all district SSPs to enhance anti terrorist operations in their respective areas and also take all proactive steps to encourage surrendering of local militants.
