Ramban: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam Thursday inspected pace of progress on the four-lanning work on Ramban- Banihal stretch of Jammu-Srinagar, National Highway.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal, Tehsildar, Banihal, Javed Sheikh and officers from the National Highway Authority of India and representatives of construction companies engaged on prestigious national project were present on the occasion.
The DC reviewed the progress of the final stage work on 8.5 km long Banihal- Qazigund road tunnel and directed the construction agencies to complete the project within the stipulated timeline.
The DC also inspected the construction work stretch wise and directed the officers to resolve the issues hindering the progress of work.
On way, several deputations and individuals also met and apprised the DC about their demands including land compensation, construction of overhead bridge at Ashar near Banihal, besides power and water supply issues.
The DC issued directions to officers concerned for resolving the issues and assured necessary action on the rest of demands.
