Bandipora: JK Welfare foundation organized day-long awareness programme about Child abuse at Eaglet’s Public Secondary School Bandipora.
The staff members, Principal of the School, Civil Society members besides a large number of male and female students participated in the Programme.
State Cordinator Ishtiyaq Ahmad Shah held an interactive session with students and make them aware about child abuse including good touch and bad touch.
Shafkat Rather, District coordinator Bandipora and Muzzafar Hussain Rather, Chairman JK Welfare Foundation explained the topic to the students. Masks, pens and copies were also distributed among students.
State coordinator Ishtiyaq Ahmad Shah said that about 19 percent of world children live in India and everyday they hear incidents about crimes against children and child abuse. According To NCRB data 2008 to 2019, 22500 cases were recorded in 2008, 129032 cases were recorded in 2017 ,141763 cases were recorded in 2018 & 148185 crimes against children were reported in 2019. “This data shows that child abuse cases are increasing at an alarming rate, that is why JK Welfare Foundation in collaboration with AINA Organization have started a campaign against this issue,” he added and said it is a matter of great concern that India is the second country in the world for child abuse offence.
He appealed to every citizen to come forward and raise a voice against this evil, so as to make crime free society.
