Anantnag: As part of its bigger initiative for promotion of fish farming the fisheries department has sent two lakh live trout eggs outside Jammu & Kashmir
Talking to Kashmir Horizon Deputy Director Trout Fish Project Kokranag Muhammad Muzaffar Bazaz said achieving new growth targets at lightning speed for strengthening the public finances by attracting youth towards fish farming especially the educated unemployed youth are the priorities of the fisheries department. Saying that resources are also expanding with the execution of new initiatives Bazaz said “ hundreds of farmers have been benefited from the government schemes related to fish farming from the Kokarnag fish farm so for and most of them have sustained their business in fish farming sector”.
Disclosing that millions of live eggs produced every year are supplied to people engaged in farming outside Jammu & Kashmir Deputy Director Trout Fish Project Kokranag said recently live fish in intensive care boxes were supplied to Sikkim and more such initiatives are taken to achieve new heights in near future. He said that Director Fisheries J & K Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Department has taken more steps to expand fishing farming in several other parts of both Kashmir valley and as well as Jammu province.
