PRIs are of prime importance vis-à-vis dev of distt: DC G’bal

G’bal: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal Monday said the Panchayat Raj Institutions are of the prime importance at the district level with regard to holistic development of the area.
He said this during the Sarpanch conference organized by Sarpanch Association Ganderbal, in collaboration with District Administration held in the lawns of Mini Secretariat, here.
While highlighting the role of the PRIs, the DDC said they play a vital role in plan formulation for economic development and social Justice.
The DC also urged the Sarpanchs to make efforts for creating durable assets of public importance besides proper monitoring of all the schemes being implemented in their respective jurisdictions.
He also asked them that they should bring issues if any impeding the progress of their area into the notice of district Administration so that necessary measures as per needs are taken to resolve the same within the shortest possible time to mitigate the problems of common masses.
During the conference, several Sarpanchs highlighted the role of PRIs in development of villages as per the needs of the people.
Later, Sarpanchs Association felicitated several officers and officials of District Administration for strengthening the grassroots level institutions.
The Conference was attended by the ADC Ganderbal Farooq Ahmad Baba, SDM Kangan, ACR Ganderbal, CPO Ganderbal and DPO Srinagar besides other officers and officials.
