Shopian: As part of ongoing 32nd National Road Safety month, the Motor Vehicle Department Shopian Friday organised an Essay competition at Gagran, here.
More than 30 students from various educational institutions participated in the event.
Addressing the students, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Shopian, Mouzim Ali said the youth can play a pivotal role to aware the general masses especially drivers to follow the traffic rules strictly to avoid accidents.
He said the need of the hour is that all the drivers while driving should wear the seat belts and speed down to save the precious lives. He further said slow and steady wins the race should be followed in letter and spirit while driving to save lives.
ARTO said certificates of merit will be distributed among the participating students after conclusion of Essay competition.
