Srinagar: Acting tough against the drug dealings, Police in Srinagar have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
A police statement issued on Friday said “ a police party of Police Post Bemina at a checkpoint established near JVC signalled a person carrying a bag to stop but he tried to flee from the spot but he was chased and apprehended tactfully by the alert police party”, adding that “during checking, officers recovered 1008 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon from his possession following which he was arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody”.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 14/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Parimpora and further investigation into the matter has been initiated, police in it’s statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, stating therein that “actions against drug peddlers are consistently taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace”.
