DGP sanctions Rs.63 lakh sanctions as Spl relief, loan for NoKs of deceased, serving cops & SPOs

Jammu: Continuing with its endeavour to provide financial
assistance to the families of the police personnel/SPO’s who have passed
away while in service, the Director-General of Police Dilbag Singh has
sanctioned rupees 55 lakh as Special Welfare Relief for NoKs of deceased
Police personnel/SPOs. He has also sanctioned rupees 8.50 lakh welfare
loan/relief in favour serving Police personnel to meet the expenses in
connection with treatment of self or dependents.
A Police statement issued on Friday said “the special welfare relief of rupees 20 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased Police personnel HC Ghulam Hassan and SgCt. Mohan Singh who expired due to illness while in service”, adding that “ grant of Special Relief of rupees five lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased SPOs Sharka Singh, Tej Ram and Subash Chander who expired during the course of their engagement in the department”.
Police in it’s statement also said “ the financial assistance has been given out of contributory Police Welfare Fund”, adding that “DGP has also sanctioned rupees five lakh welfare loan in favour of HC Nissar Ahmad for his treatment, while as rupees three lakh welfare loan has been sanctioned in favour of HC Vidya Raj for his treatment”.
Stating that the DGP has sanctioned rupees twenty five thousand each as
welfare relief in favour of SgCt. Farooq Ahmad and Ct. Tariq Ahmad who were
injured while performing their legitimate duties, police in it’s statement also said “the welfare loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and is
recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without any interest
while welfare relief is non-refundable. The amount has been sanctioned out
of Central Police Welfare Fund”.
In concluding para of it’s statement police said “police headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
