Hakeem discusses with LG Sinha current political scenario, seeks restoration of statehood and protection of land & job rights

Jammu: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen on Thursday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and discussed prevailing socio- economic scenario in jammu and kashmir.
Hakeem urged the LG to prevail upon Center especially PM Narinder Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to fulfill thier assurances and promises made to the people of jammu and kashmir, in the parliament , regarding restoration of statehood to Jammuu and Kashmir besides protecting thier rights on land and government jobs. He said this step was imperative for bridging the prevailing void of mistrust and alienation among the people of jammu and kashmir. He asked the LG that people of jammu and kashmir are yearning for peace and development and want to live with dignity and honour.Hakeem urged the LG to seek from the Center a comprehensive special package for the unemployment youth of jammu and kashmir especially in Central government departments and PSUs as the industries in the state were negligible in view of its disadvantageous geographical location.Hakeem also urged the LG to execute work on various identified mini hydle power projects in jammu and kashmir to harvest the huge hydle power potential for promotion of industries on sustained basis. He sought personal intervention of LG for execution of work on proposed Minipower projects in Sukhnag and Nallah Shaliganga in his Khansahib constituency. The DPRs for these power houses already stand completed in 2005. ” On completion, these power projects would fulfill 100 percent local electricity requirements besides exporting of the surplus power .
Hakeem also impressed upon the LG to fill up infrastructural gaps in the way of promotion of tourism in jammu and kashmir. He said jammu and kashmir has vast tourism potential and virgin natural beauty, most of which, remains unexploited till date . He said all educated unemployed youth should be provided monthly stipend till dignified jobs are provided to them. ” This was important to protect youth from depression and drug addiction, ” Hakeem observed.
Hakeem urged the LG to upgrade air and surface transport facilities in jammu and kashmir for promotion of tourism , trade and horticultural which are the mainstay of its economy. He said road connectivity in kashmir with the rest of the country is in an extremely poor state which remains frequently blocked for weeks together and becomes the main cause of unbearable airfares besides shortage of essential commodities and skyrocketing of thier prices in the market. He stressed for making concerned companies tasked with construction of Jammu -Highway – 44 , accountable so as to compete it as early as possible. He urged for restoration of 4 G internet service in jammu and kashmir adding in absence of 4G , not only lakhs of students but tour and travel operators and business community was also suffering because of the prevailing internet ban.
Hakeem also sought intervention of the LG to construct Tossamidan- Doodhpathri – Yusmarg tourist circuit to promote and exploit huge tourism potential in the area.
