DDC Ang conducts maiden Block Divas prog at Pahalgam

Ang: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Anshul Garg Wednesday conducted the maiden Block Diwas program at Sub Division Pahalgam.
The camp was attended by a large number of local people, PRI members, Ponywallas, newly elected councilors of MC Pahalgam and officials of all line departments.
At the outset, SDM Pahalgam briefed the chair about the administrative setup and functioning of various departments in the sub division. He also apprised him about the functioning of the control room, achievements and progress made with respect to implementation of welfare and developmental schemes of the government.
The DDC in his address stressed on categorization of issues and demands in two groups viz essential services pertaining to water, food, power etc and other group pertaining to pension schemes, scholarships, Aadhaar seeding etc.
He directed the SDM to monitor the grievances received on LGs grievances portal and focus on quality response on all grievances in stipulated time. He also added that satisfactory grievance redressal is top most priority of LGs administration and officers should categorically flag budget constraints, relevant provisions of law etc while responding to the grievances received through grievance portal.
Highlighting the importance of road connectivity around Pahalgam both for the general public and the tourists, the DDC directed the officials of R&B and PMGSY to ensure proper maintenance of all roads leading to the tourist destination besides smooth and timely distribution of compensation to beneficiaries under various road development schemes.
While stressing on making due payments under B2V3, 14th FC and MGNREGA, he directed BDO Pahalgam to sort out all issues pertaining to FRA through Gram Sabhas.
The Forest Department was directed to maintain all records on FRA at the sub division level with primary focus on community rights.
Agriculture & Allied Departments informed that 32000 KCC cases in Agriculture & 550 in Animal Husbandry and out of 5000 cases sanctioned in PM KMY, 1200 have been sanctioned so far. The DDC directed the officers to ensure cent percent saturation of beneficiaries under these schemes.
On the occasion, the public apprised the DDC of their issues, grievances and demands. He after giving a patient hearing to all of them issued on spot directions to the concerned for redressal of genuine demands besides assured of projecting their other demands before higher authorities.
Among others, the camp was attended by ADC (S) and ASP Anantnag, SDM Pahalgam, Tehsildar & BDO Pahalgam, Executive officer MC Pahalgam & other officers.
Similar Block Divas camps were also held at Sub Division Bijbehara under the Chairmanship of ADC (G) and at Dooru & Kokernag sub divisions of the district.
Meanwhile, the DDC briefly inspected the base camp Nunwan where ADC(S) and ASP Anantnag presented an overview about the functioning of the camp and the facilities available there during Amarnath Yatra.
