Srinagar/Feb,1 : Advocate Mir Javed a senior functionary of J&K Apni Party from North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday condoled the demise of Krishan Dev Sethi the last surviving member of the constituent assembly of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state.
In a condolence statement issued on Monday Advocate Mir Javed said that Krishan Dev Sethi was not only the last surviving member of the constituent assembly of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state but also a witness to the changes that saw the downgrading of Jammu & Kashmir from an autonomous state to a union territory in different phases during last seventy years. He said that the contributions of Krishen Dev Sethi will go down in golden letters in the history of Jammu & Kashmir once a full fledged autonomous state since downgraded to a union territory. He said that the void created by departure of Sethi won’t be filled for decades together as he always sided with the people but not the governments responsible for current political chaos and fragmentation of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state.
