Independent councillors of MC Pahalgam join JKAP, Rafi Mir demands promotion of winter tourism in Pahalgam

Ang: Former MLA and Apni Party General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir on Saturday welcomed the independent councillors of Municipal Corporation Pahalgam into the party fold.

While speaking on this occasion, Rafi Ahmad Mir said that the youth of Pahalgam has the vision to carry out the developmental projects in Pahalgam. “Apni Party provides a platform for the youth to voice their opinions”, Mir said. He further said that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir has tremendous skills, need apt opportunities.

Welcoming prominent elected members, Emraan Ganie and Bilal Ahmad Mir, Rafi Ahmad Mir hoped that they will be an asset for the society and will work for the betterment of the general public. He welcomed the new entrants into the party-fold while exhorting on them to put in their untiring efforts for the redressal of public grievances. Mir remarked that elected bodies are the representatives of the people and should work for the progress of the inhabitants. The new entrants affirmed to put into their efforts to strengthen the party on the ground level and further its socio-economic and political activities to address the sufferings of the people in their areas.

Mir expressed concern over the acute shortage of water, below standard health care facilities and deplorable road connectivity in various areas of Pahalgam constituency. He said that due to lack of basic amenities, locals, as well as tourists, are facing problems. He asserted that the Government’s failure to complete many key projects responsible for the under-development of the area.

Mir demanded that the Government should promote winter sports in Pahalgam. He observed that Pahalgam has a fitting potential to become the revenue jewel of Kashmir, which will employ the local youth. He stressed over the swift redressal of grievances, upliftment of the area by fulfilling the pending demands.
