Jammu: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma Saturday reviewed the progress on mining permission cases here at a video conference meeting with all Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division.
The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Jammu, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jammu, besides senior functionaries of Geology and Mining Department, Irrigation and Flood Control and other concerned, while all Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division attended the meeting through video conferencing.
The Divisional Commissioner reviewed the availability of Minor Minerals for construction purposes of major projects of central and UT government agencies. He also sought details of grant of mining leases in the districts of Jammu division.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioners to ensure that no extraction outside the lease and no over exploitation of minor minerals was allowed in their respective districts.
He also instructed the DCs to expedite the process of grant of mining leases and obtain immediate consent/NOCs from all the concerned departments.
