G’bal: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Ganderbal have arrested one drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Police in a statement issued on Wednesday said “ based on specific information, a police party of Police Station Safapora headed by SHO PS Safapora established a checkpoint at Mirabad intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK15-3597 with one person on board identified as Bilal Ahmed Sheikh resident of Markundal Hajin”. Stating that during checking, officers recovered 1.5Kgs of Charas from the possession of the accused and after arresting him shifted him to Police Station where he remains in custody, the police in it’s statement further said “ the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized and a case FIR No. 02/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Safapora and investigation into the matter has been initiated”.
Police in it’s statement also appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, saying that “actions against drug peddlers are taken to reassure the people about the efforts to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
