B’pora: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Bandipora have arrested two drug peddlers and huge quantity of psychotropic substances recovered from their possession.
Police in a statement issued on Wednesday said “ based on specific information, a police party of Police Station Bandipora headed by SHO PS Bandipora under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Bandipora established a checkpoint near Madar chowk and intercepted two suspected individuals identified as Abdul Lateef resident of Gamroo and Athar Rasool resident of Nowpora Bandipora. During checking and recovered from them 550 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon and 300 tablets of Alprazolam from their possession. They were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody”.
Stating that a case FIR No. 11/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Bandipora and investigation into the matter has been initiated, police in it’s statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, saying that “efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace”.
