B’pora Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Bandipora have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police statement issued on Monday said “officers from Police Station Hajin at a checkpoint established at Bonikhan Mohalla Hajin intercepted a person identified as Manzoor Ahmad Parray son of Abdul Aziz Parray resident of Bonikhan Mohalla Hajin and recovered from him 650 grams of Charas following which he was arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody”.
Stating that a case vide FIR No.07/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Hajin and further investigation into the matter has been initiated, police in it’s statement also appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, saying that actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that efforts are on to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
