Srinagar: J&K Apni Party Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir has condemned the way Jammu Municipal Corporation attempted to demolish structures in Sunjwan.
“It is a bizarre violation of the rights of the people who had constructed buildings much before JMC came into being. The officials did not follow rules,” said Mir.
He demanded action against the officials responsible for creating chaos among the people without following the procedure. “Why don’t these officials be punished for their unjustified acts?” said Hassan Mir. Mir further said that “The officials should face legal action under rules for harassing the common masses without any reason.”
He questioned the selective approach of the JMC for creating fear psychosis among the people and apprehended that last Friday’s situation which was created by the Corporation could have become a major law and order problem. He warned against repeating such acts in future. “The officials who deliberately create law and order problems and promote mistrust among the communities should be booked under the law,” he demanded.
