Srinagar : President CAPD Employees Association, Ajaz Khan Saturday urged upon the government to fulfill the long pending demands of Food employees.
While addressing a press conference here in Kashmir capital Srinagar, Ajaz Khan put forth the list of demands that employees want redressal on immediate basis.
He demanded that the department should be re-organized without any delay. “We should be given ‘wastages’ that occur during the distribution of ration from one location to another. Besides unloading charges should be enhanced from Rs 200 to 600,” he said.
Khan said that Store-Keepers and Assistant Store-Keepers do the same work and thus they should be given equal pay and should fall in the same grade. “In Jammu Store-Keepers and Assistant Store-Keepers get equal pay and fall in equal grade but such is not the case in Kashmir.”
Ajaz Khan as per Kashmir News Trust said that there are daily-wagers whose wages are pending from past 25 months. “Their wages should be released while Fair-Price Shop Dealers, Labourers working in stores and daily wagers should be regularized.”
He said issue related to pay anomaly need to be addressed without any delay.
“We work very hard for the department and obey every order that flows from the top, but unfortunately, our demands are not being fulfilled,” he said.
Ajaz Khan demanded there should be a DPC in 6 months and those who deserve promotions should be promoted. “We hope the next DPC that has been called by the Director on 3 February will be held in time,” he said.
He also demanded that Adhar cards should be issued to all consumers. “Only 64% population in Srinagar is Adhar Card holders. We appeal to the LG, Commissioner and Director to issue ration even to those who are without adhar cards till they get the same. Besides, an official from Adhar Card department should be deputed at sales centre till the issue is resolved,” he said.
He appealed Director to rectify those problems in the portal which employees face during online sales.
Ajaz Khan said that CAPD Employees Association will meet higher ups in Jammu to get these demands fulfilled.
