Baramulla: As a prelude to 72nd Republic Day, the Army at Baramulla organized a musical extravaganza “Jashn-e-Jamhooriyat“- A musical ode celebrating People’s Power!”. The event was facilitated by the Baramulla Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of Dagger Gunners & Dagger Division on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day at Thimayya Hall on 24th Jan 2021 from 15:30 Hrs onwards. The evening function constituted Fusion Band, Sufi Songs, Bollywood songs, Rap & much more. Famous Singers Irfan, Bilal, Mehmeet, Abid Ali & winners of ‘Varmull Fankar’ performed live & entertained local awaam of Baramulla. It did not only showcase budding youth musical talent but also strengthened bonhomie between Local Awaam & Indian Army. The talented youths mesmerized the audience with their performances and left everyone spell bonded and enthralled.

The event marked as a new beginning for the town of Baramulla as no such event has ever been organized in last so many decades here. This event has given hopes to the people of valley who have seen more violence & suffered heavily due to extreme radicalization & terrorism in the 1990s and have literally no source of public entertainment since then. The youths of the area have exceptional talent & the Jashn-e-Jamhooriyat gave an apt platform to these talented youths to showcase it to the local audience.
