4 gamblers arrested; ₹79000 Stake money seized: Police

Srinagar: Acting tough against social crimes, Srinagar Police have arrested 04 gamblers from a gambling site and seized ₹79000/- stake money. Police in a statement said
A police statement issued here on Saturday said “a police party of Police Station Zakura raided a gambling site at Shah Hamdan Colony after following an input about gambling activities and apprehended four gamblers identified as Manzoor Ahamed Dar resident of Shah Hamdan Colony Zakura, Bilal Ahmad Wani resident of Saderbal Nageen, Javid Ahmad Khan resident of Hawal and Fayaz Ahmad Bhat resident of Court Road Lal Chowk”.
Stating that officers have seized playing cards and stake money of ₹79000/- from their possession, the police in it’s statement said “ the accused been arrested and shifted to PS Zakura where they remain in custody”. Police in it’s statement also said a case vide FIR No. 06/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Zakura and investigation has been initiated. Warning that people indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law, the police in the concluding para of the statement appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
