Sericulture Deptt conducts Awareness Camp at Bla

Baramulla: The Sericulture Department Baramulla Tuesday organised day long awareness cum sensitisation programme on various schemes and programmes offered by the department at GDC, here.
Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraaf was the chief guest on the occasion.
On the occasion, the Joint Director presented a detailed presentation of progress cum performance achieved.
ADDC, in his address complimented the participants and said that various initiatives are being taken on the part of district administration to upgrade and develop this sector.
He urged upon different stakeholders to avail benefits of various welfare schemes sponsored by the department besides emphasising upon the unemployed youth to come forward and reap the benefits of these schemes.
Other speakers also highlighted different aspects associated with sericulture and presented different means and methodologies to enhance the silk production and productivity.
Joint Director Sericulture Gh Nabi Mir, Associate Professor Dr Irfan Lateef Khan SKUAST, Senior Scientist Research Institute Pampore Dr Rajesh Kumar Sharma various officers/officials of sericulture department and a large gathering of farmers associated with sericulture farming attended the programme.
