Srinagar/Jan,11:Jammu & Kashmir Peoples’ Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone on Tuesday announced pull out of his party from the Peoples’ Alliance For Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) on the grounds that proxy candidates of the alliance parties spoiled the alliance on ground. However he said that his party will continue to support the alliance over it’s state objective on restoration of Pre-August 5,2019 position of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state.
In a letter to the President National Conference and Chief of the Peoples’ Alliance For Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) Lone said “PAGD sentiment at the top was not emulated on the ground” expressing the belief that “the whole is greater than some of it’s parts, but the whole was not greater than some of it’s parts, sadly not even equal to sum of parts, but much lesser and equal to just one part of many parts”. Alleging that the party fielding the candidate on behalf of PAGD was left to fend for itself and secured the votes that his party managed, the Peoples’ Conference Chairman said ‘ in most places other parties were silent bystanders or worst compounded the problem by fielding the proxy candidates”. Expressing the belief that DDC election may not matter institutionally but were distinctive by virtue of timing being the first after August 5, the Peoples’ Conference Chairman in his letter to PAGD Chief Farooq Abdullah said ” PAGD won these elections won these elections unambiguously with maximum no of seats but the other statistical variable in the context of August 5 is the number of votes polled against PAGD candidates.Net outcome of selectively voting for and against PAGD candidates is a very poor vote share”.
Expressing the belief that breach of trust is beyond remedy the People Conference Chairman while citing majority view of his party for divorcing the alliance the Peoples’ Conference Chairman announced pull out from the Peoples’ Alliance For Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) with a commitment to support the alliance on it’s stated objectives even to the extent of not issuing statement against it or it’s leaders
