Sopore: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Sopore have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substances from his possession.
According to a police statement issued on Friday Police Station Dangiwacha on 11th January arrested a drug peddler at Ladoora crossing and recovered psychotropic substances from his possession.
“A case FIR No. 09/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Dangiwacha and investigation was set into motion”, the police statement reads, adding that “during the course of investigation, officers questioned the arrested drug peddler who reveals the involvement of one more individual identified as Imitiyaz Ahmad Mir resident of Ladoora Rafiabad in drug dealings in the area”.
Police in it’s statement also said that officers have arrested Imitiyaz Ahmad Mir, recovered 12 bottles of Codeine Phosphate and 08 strips of Spasmoproxyvon Plus from his possession, and shifted them to Police Station Dangiwacha where he remains in custody.
Police in it’s statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law , stating therein that actions are taken to reassure the community members about the promises made keep society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in community meetings.
