Ganderbal police organises mega events for awareness against drug abuse

G’bal: Ganderbal Police held a day-long series of events on drug abuse amongst younger generations and the community as a whole.
The Mega event consists of rally, cultural programmes, debates, counselling, etc.
The mega event was attended by SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS, DySP HQRs Ganderbal, DySP PC Ganderbal, DySP DAR Ganderbal, SDPO Kangan, Sheikh Saba and Junaid from White Globe, District Information Officer, ARTO Ganderbal, Social welfare officer and other senior officers.
A mega rally was organised by Police comprises of NGO’s like “White
Globe” & “Shugul” and students from different schools viz, RP school,
Vijay Memorial School, New Dreamland school, Tiny Hearts, Angels Care
Public School Safapora along with members of civil society. The rally
started from Darend Ganderbal and concluded at District Police Lines
Tulmulla, Ganderbal.

After the culmination of rally a colourful cultural program was
organised at District Police Lines Ganderbal where a Gazal maestro Sh.
Waseem Khan mesmerized the participants. Skit was also presented by
the professionals of Information Department against drug abuse by
Bashir Kootur and his group. During the event students of RP school
also presented their thoughts on this topic. Experts of Medical field
i.e; Dr Umar Jaan- MD Psychiatrist, Dr Afshaan a clinical Psychiatrist
also gave their thought provoking presentation.

Besides, a medical camp was also organised at DPL Ganderbal in which
participants from different areas of Ganderbal joined for their
medical examination with regard to psychological disorders,
depressions and were consulted by a team of experts.

While speaking on the occasion, SSP Ganderbal appreciated the
participants for cooperating Ganderbal Police in eradicating the
social evils. He said that amongst various social evils, drug abuse by
misguided youth is a major concern. In our society all sections have
to work conjointly and save youth from the clutches of engulfing drug
menace.

He further said that J&K Police has adopted multi-pronged strategies
to fight war against narco terrorism, syndicates of drugs, drug
peddlers and consumers.

At the end the prizes and mementos were distributed among the
participants as a token of appreciation and peace
