Distt Pencak Silat Championship concludes

Srinagar: The 2 days District Pencak Silat Championship organized by District Srinagar Pencak Silat Association under the banner of Pencak Silat Association of Jammu Kashmir Wednesday concluded at Indoor Sports Complex, Lal Chowk.

Sports officer central Nusrat Gazala was the chief guest on the occasion while Mohammad Iqbal Manager, Yasir Ashai, Javid Ashai, Moomin Bilal Kaboo, Shadab Mufti, Javeed Ashai, Waris Mir.Indoor Stadium was the guests of honour. Around 300 students from various Schools and clubs participated during this two days championship. The participants (both boys & girls) from the age category of 6 to 24 years participated during this championship.

While talking to one of the participants she said that players are very happy as the championships were affected due to covid-19 pandemic now the situations are better and the organizers have taken proper safety measures and followed proper rules during this championship. While talking to the media Gazala said youth should be fit mentally as well as physically and they should take proper precautions during the activities as this pandemic is still existing. She thanked parents as they play an important role in supporting their children during this pandemic and are allowing them to take part in sports activity. The gold medallist will be selected for the upcoming state championship around 16 districts will be participating in the state championship. Said Iqbal. The prize distribution ceremony concluded with a demonstration led At the end, Irfan presented the vote of thanks.
