Bandipora: Authorities on Wednesday airlifted a critical injured infant from Snow bound Tulail valley of Gurez to Bandipora.
An official said that on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmed, an infant was airlifted from snowbound Gurez to Bandipora for immediate medical aid.
He said that an infant namely Toiba Manzoor daughter of Manzoor Ahmad Lone of Badugam Tulail was fallen yesterday from roof and received serious head injury and doctor posted in Tulail advised for further treatment at Skims.
The official said that the district administration received an SOS call from the family for evacuation of the patient.
He said that the Deputy Commissioner immediately directed to arrange a special chopper to airlift the patient and the patient was evicted today from Badugam to Bandipora hospital then Skims for further treatment.
Pertinently, the snow-clad Gurez Valley remains cut off from the rest of the world during winters owing to heavy snowfall in the valley.
