Sopore Police arrests drug peddler; psychotropic substances recovered

Sopore: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Sopore have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substances from his possession.
“Officers at a checkpoint established at Ladoora Crossing intercepted a suspicious person identified as Qaiser Ahmad Dar resident of Ladoora Rafiabad”, said a police official in Sopore, adding that “during checking, officers recovered 12 bottles of Codeine Phosphate and 4 strips of Spasmoproxyvon Plus from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Dangiwacha where he remains in custody”.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 09/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered atPolice Station Dangiwacha and investigation in the matter has been initiated, the police official asked people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
The police official also said that actions against drug peddlers are taken to reassure the people about the promises made to keep the society free from the scourge of drug menace .
