Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Monday reviewed the arrangements being put in place for the Republic Day celebration 2021, in a meeting of all the concerned officers, here at M A Stadium.
It was informed in the meeting that the main function will be held at M A Stadium Jammu, where the Lieutenant Governor will unfurl the national flag and take salute at the march-past. The meeting was told that the full dress rehearsal would be held on January 24.
Among others present in the meeting were SSP Jammu, SSP Security Jammu, SSP Traffic, Director School Education, Additional Commissioner Jammu, Joint Director Information, Joint Director Hospitality and Protocol, besides senior officers of Police, Army, CRPF, BSF, SSB, Traffic, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, PWD, JMC, Health Services, Fire services, Education, Cultural Academy, Youth Services and Sports, JKRTC and other concerned departments.
The Div com took a comprehensive review of arrangements being made and stressed on better synergy among the departments for the smooth celebration of the National Event.
During the meeting, the concerned officers informed that all the arrangements have been put in place including selection of contingents, cultural Items, Display of Tableau, etc. It was further informed that the rehearsals for cultural items and contingents have already been started.
The Divisional Commissioner directed Jammu Municipal Corporation to conduct a sanitization drive in and around the venue and install mobile toilets, while Jal Shakti was entrusted the task of barricading at the venue and making the provision of water supply. JPDCL was directed for installation of lights wherever required and uninterrupted power supply.
The meeting also finalized the arrangements for transportation facility for participants, traffic management, security, installation of screens/LEDs, illumination of Government buildings and other important preparations for smooth conduct of the event.
Information department was directed to finalize the commentators and ensure provision for PA system with trial run and adequate backup of batteries. The Hospitality and Protocol department was asked for decoration of stage, pavilion, installation of flower pots, displays and seating arrangements.
Keeping in view the Covid pandemic, the Divisional Commissioner directed the Health department for deployment of teams of doctors for screening at different points.
No person shall be allowed inside the stadium without the face mask, he maintained. He also directed the concerned officers to make seating arrangements according to protocol of social distancing.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner took round of the venue to inspect the arrangements and directed the concerned officers to ensure cleanliness, availability of water, working of taps in washroo
