Srinagar/Jan,11 : Former Union Minister Prof Saif Ud Din Soz on Monday sought the intervention of Jammu & Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for a judicial probe into the killing of three youth at Lawaypora on Srinagar-Baramulla highway recently. The slain youth were dubbed militants by the government forces but their families claim that they were innocents.
In a statement issued on Monday Prof Soz said “it is now being debated hotly in public space on the basis of evidence that there was no encounter at Lawaypora in which three young men of Pulwama were killed recently. The people are convinced that it was a cold-blooded murder of three youngsters who were 11th class students”.
Seeking judicial probe into the killing prof Soz said ” the least that is expected of J&K Lt. Governor is that he institutes a high level enquiry, preferably judicial enquiry and place the facts before the people who feel distressed on this episode of organized violence”
Prof Soz also alleged that the families who suffered these killings of their dear ones have been left to their lot and relief has not been provided to them and said “It is so tragic that these concerned families of Kulgam happen to be the poorest. They are at God’s mercy!”
