Removing President Baramulla Municipal Council blatantly illegal, undemocratic maneuvering: Monga

Jammu/Jan,10: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President and former MLC G N Monga on Sunday termed the removing of President Baramulla Municipal Council, Omar Kakroo as blatantly illegal and undemocratic maneuvering which is another attempt to erode the sanctity of democratic institutions in the region.
In a statement issued to the press he said that a no confidence motion was first moved against Kakroo just a few days back and later was withdrawn. “However, another motion was brought in immediately to remove him without his knowledge in a total undemocratic and unconstitutional manner. Such undemocratic attempts are another glaring example of those powers who want to undermine the sanctity of institutions in J&K,” Monga rued.
The Congress leader called upon people to fight against injustices and said the party will not step behind and will fulfill its duty of saving the country and its democracy till the last breath. “It’s time to rise to save democracy and the Constitution. The time has come to save the country and we have to struggle hard for it,” he asserted.
