DC Pulwama observes second night halt at Abhama, oversees road clearance to Sangerwani

Pulwama: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer along with team spent second intervening night of 8-9 January at Abhama after getting the Abhama – Sangerwani road restored.
The clearance operation on the road continued till late night on 08 January during which two medical emergencies were also evacuated.
While interacting with scores of people in Sangerwani, the DC saiddue to the joint efforts, the administration has succeeded in opening the road however it requires further improvement.
He added that despite lack of adequate provisioning of snow cutters by the MED department, the route has been opened by pressing into service 06 JCBs by R&B and 02 Snow Ploughs of MED Dept which was ably monitored by Ex. Engineer R&B department.
Earlier on 07 January, the DC along with team had spent intervening night of 7-8 January among locals at Achzoga, Pulwama and on 08th of January, the team of Officers along with men and machinery resumed the restoration work on the Achgoza – Sangerwani road and called off the restoration operation late night which led to a halt of additional night at Abhama.
It is important to mention that Achgoza, Sangerwani is a tough terrain and farthest area of Pulwama and has witnessed a snowfall of more than 6ft and the team has accomplished the task of opening Abhama – Sangerwani road which otherwise takes weeks for restoration.
Following the completion of clearance work, scores of people met the DC and apprised him of their demands and grievances. The DC after giving patient hearing to their pleas he gave on spot directions for their early resolution.
Meanwhile, Executive Engineers of R&B, KPDCL, Jal Shakti and Tehsildar Rajpora besides AEE Mechanical were amongst others that accompanied the DC since the last two days.
