Srinagar: The Jammu and National Conference on Tuesday impressed upon the Divisional administration to expedite its response to the problems which have surfaced in wake of heavy snowfall in south Kashmir Districts.
In a statement Party Member of Parliament from Anantnag Hasnain Masoodi impressed upon the administration to clear all the major arterials and inter district roads in South Kashmir Districts on priority basis. He also impressed upon the divisional administration to take stock of the availability of necessary edibles including LPG, Kerosene oil, and other household items in the far-flung areas and upper reaches of south Kashmir areas including upper reaches of Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama and Anantnag.
Masoodi also impressed upon the concerned departments to restore water and electricity supply across south Kashmir on immediate basis. “Redressal of the problems like power-outages, water shortage, road clearance, dewatering and ensuring availability of food items should be high on the addenda of divisional administration. The widespread road blockage, outages, and water scarcity debunks the claim of the government on its effective response to snowfall aftermath. I hope that the administration will speed up its post snowfall response effectively to ensure that the people don’t have to undergo any predicaments. In addition to that it is expected from the administration to ensure accountability in primary, secondary and tertiary health care centers across south Kashmir areas,” he said adding that Shortage of drinking water, power outages, and non availability of essentials like LPG, vegetables, and other food items was severely being felt in far-flung areas.
