DDC Ang convenes meeting for nomination of stakeholders under FRA

Ang: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, K.K.Sidha Thursday convened a meeting of elected DDC’s and BDC’s on formation of various committees under Forest Rights for schedule tribes and other forest Dwellers Act 2006 (FRA) at Dak Banglow here.
The DDC asked BDO’s to convene Gram Sabhas for constituting Forest Rights Committees from each Panchayat with 10 to 15 members wherein at least two- third members shall be the Schedule Tribes and not less than one third of such members shall be women.
He said, the FRC shall decide on a Chairperson and a Secretary and intimate this to the Sub Divisional Level Committee.
The DDC also asked for the constitution of Sub Division Level Committees comprising SDM, RO, Tehsildars, BDO’s, elected DDC members and BDC’s and District Level Committee where DDC, DFO’s, ACD, DPO and nominated DDC members.
The DDC asked the DDC’s and BDC’s to prepare a comprehensive need assessment programme under various sectors under Agriculture, RDD, Social Welfare, Forest, ICDS, Employment and Labour so that actual beneficiaries are covered under various Schemes and Financial Assistance Programmes.
He stressed the concerned to coordinate with SDM’s, Tehsildars and BDO’s to conduct awareness programmes under Panchayat level.
The DFO Anantnag was directed to organise training sessions for DDC’s and BDC’s and also to conduct mass awareness programmes for elected DDC’s, BDC’s and other PRI members regarding Forest Rights Act 2006.
Among others the meeting was attended by ADC, ACR, SDM Dooru, ACD, DPO all Tehsildars and BDO’s.
