DC Shopian oversees snow clearance operation, restoration of essential services

Shopian: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin Wednesday oversaw snow clearance operations and restoration of essential services in the district.
The DC said that owing to heavy accumulation, extra heavy machinery including Snow Rolbas were pressed into service by MED to clear the main roads including Shopian-Pulwama road, Shopian-Keller road, Shopian-Zainpora-Bijbehara road and Shopian-Hermain-Kulgam road.
He said apart from these, around 36 interior roads connecting large regions were cleared by R&B Teams.
Regarding restoration of power and water supply in the affected areas of the district he said both power and water supply has been restored to most of the areas however the work on the rest of the affected is going on and complete restoration is expected soon.
The DC also said that various essential commodities including ration, LPG etc were stocked well in advance in far flung and remote areas so that the people living in such areas may not face any inconvenience.
