DC Poonch inaugurates dry mock drive for COVID19 vaccination in the distt

Poonch: As a part of the nationwide dry mock drive for COVID19 vaccination,the Department of Health and Family welfare Poonch on Wednesday conducted a dry mock drive on COVID19 vaccination here at DH Poonch.The dry mock drive was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner Poonch Rahul Yadav. The dry run was launched at three locations including, District Hospital Poonch, CHC Mandi and CHC Mendhar. Chief Medical Officer, Dr. G.A Malik, Medical Superintended, Dr. Mushtaq, DPM, Nikhat Khawaja, and Dr. Rahul Sharma DM&EO were present on the ocassion.
Chief Medical Officer said the objective of the dry run for Covid-19 Vaccine introduction is to assess operational feasibility in the use of Covid Vaccine Intelligence Network ( Co- WIN) application in field environment, to test the linkages between planning and implementation and to identify the challenges and guide way forward prior to actual implemetation during this inclement weather conditions.Chief Medical Officer also informed that during the mock drive,the beneficiary is asked to sit in the waiting room where his/her details are checked,then they are sent to the vaccination room where vaccination shot is given and then they are asked to sit in the observation room for 30 minutes mandatory so that untoward conditions can be avoided. Chief Medical Officer informed that a total of 75 beneficiaries selected from Co-WIN platform have participated during the mock drive held in District Hospital Poonch, CHC Mandi and CHC Mendhar.
Deputy commissioner while speaking on the occasion said that the introduction of the Coronavirus vaccine will save the lives of people from the deadly COVID19 pandemic and the need of the hour is to work with utmost dedication for the successful introduction of the vaccine in the district for the welfare of the masses.Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to work in a mission mode to ensure the successful conduct of the mock drive of the COVID19 vaccination to avoid any inconvenience at the time when vaccination drive actually starts in the district.
