Sopore: The oath ceremony for newly elected councillors was on Saturday held at Dok Banglow Sopore which was attended by senior functionaries of the government and senior citizens of the area .
Five ( 5) women candidates among (13 ) elected Municipal Councillors of Municipal Council Sopore took oath at a simple but an impressive oath taking ceremony at Dak Banglow Sopore . The oath to newly elected councillors was administered to them by ADDC Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf and Executive officer Municipal Council Sopore. SHO Sopore Azim Khan and other officials from various departments of Sopore were present on the occasion.
In this Municipal Council election contesting Five candidates were declared elected uncontested but other eight Candidates were elected through bye elections held last month alongwith DDC elections. Out of 21 municipal wards in Sopore town 8 were elected uncontested in 2018 ULB elections, but 13 wards had remained vacant then.
