Awantipora police arrests militant associate; incriminating material and explosive substance recovered

Awantipora : Police in Awantipora have arrested a militant associate and recovered incriminating materials including explosive substance from his possession.
A police statement issued on Friday said “Awantipora Police along with 42RR and 130Bn CRPF arrested one militant associate of militant outfit LeT. who was identified as Aqif Ahmad Teli resident of Cherso Awantipora”.
“As per police records he was involved in providing shelter, logistic and other support to the active militants, besides transporting arms & ammunition in Awantipora & Tral areas”, the statement reads, adding that “he was also involved in recruiting local youth in militant ranks and distribution of money for militancy related activities. In this regard, the bank transactions of the arrested militant associate are also being investigated”.
Police in it’s statement also said “ incriminating material of proscribed militant outfit LeT and other explosive substance has been recovered from his possession. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation”.
Police in it’s statement said that a case vide FIR No. 02/2021 under relevant section of law stands registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
