Budgam: Police in Budgam have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police statement issued on Thursday said “ officers at a check point established at Mirgund intercepted a person identified as Abdul Rashid Rather resident of Nusrullapora Budgam and during checking, officers recovered 90grams of charas, 43 tablets of banned drugs and 2 plastic syringes from his possession after which he wasarrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody”.
Stating that a case vide FIR No.471/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation started, the Police in it’s statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law stating therein “actions against drug peddlers should reassure people that efforts are on to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace”.
