Kulgam: Police on Wednesday arrested three lady drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A police statement issued on Wednesday said that officers while patrolling in Bus stand area of Qazigund Kulgam intercepted three suspicious ladies all residents of Cheema Wadi Amritsar, Punjab and during checking they recovered 25kgs of poppy straw from their possession after which they were arrested.
“A case FIR No. 326/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Qazigund. Further investigation into the matter has been initiated” reads the police statement.
Police in it’s statement has appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, saying therein “ the consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the people that efforts are on to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace”.
