Bandipora police solves mysterious murder case, accused arrested

Bandipora: Bandipora police solved a mysterious murder case of a lady within a week by arresting the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
A police statement issued on Tuesday said “On 21 December this year, Police Post Ajas received a written complaint from one person namely Abdul Rehman Matahanji son of Abdul Gaffar Matahanji resident of Laharwalpora Bandipora wherein he stated that his daughter namely Afrooza Bano who was married to Shabir Ahmad Pahloo son of Nazir Ahmad Pahloo resident of S.K Payeen Bandipora has been killed by her husband.
Stating that a case vide FIR No.177/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Sumbal and investigation was taken up, police in it’s statement further said “a special team headed by DO Police Post Ajas recovered the dead body of the deceased lady and after completing all medico legal formalities the body was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites”.
Saying that during the course of investigation, officers came to know that the husband of the deceased lady identified as Shabir Ahmad Pahloo is involved in the commission of the crime, the police in it’s statement said after strenuous efforts and swift action of police, the accused person was arrested.
The police in it’s statement further said “ during questioning, the accused admitted that during the intervening night of 20/21 December the duo were engaged in a brawl over Mehar and Golden ornaments and he strangulated his wife to death. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody. Further investigation in the case is going on”.
