J&K Olympic Association calls on Advisor Farooq Khan, discusses issues pertaining to dev of sports in JK

Jammu: A delegation of J&K Olympic Association called on Advisor to Lt Governor Farooq Khan and discussed various issues pertaining to infrastructure, activities and development of sports in the J&K of J&K.
The Association was led by its President AshJ&kosh Sharma and comprised of Vice Presidents Captain Murti Gupta, Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Kiran Wattal, Secretary General Dushyant Sharma, Treasurer, BS Tirthi, President Cycling Association, Ravinder Singh besides Secretary Sports Council, Naseem Javed Choudhary.
The delegation apprised the Advisor regarding the issues related to sports infrastructure, lack of coaches in different sports categories, constitJ&kion of Sports Council and allocation/release of financial aid to different sports councils which are associated with J & K Olympic Association.
Advisor gave a patient hearing to issues raised by the delegation and exhorted that J&K Administration is committed to provide better sporting facilities and infrastructure to players of the J&K so that they can perform better in the national and international competitions and bring laurels to J&K.
Advisor said that the J&K administration has taken several steps to promote sports activities in the J&K and informed that 2nd Winter games are going to be organized in Gulmarg again. He asked the members of the Association to take part in these games with full enthusiasm and passion. He also said that administration is giving emphasis on water sports.
Advisor said that the administration is committed to provide best avenues and infrastructure to the sports-loving youth o J&K to channelize their energy towards a positive direction.
Regarding the issues raised by the Association, Advisor said that administration would engage top coaches at J&K, Division and District level to provide best training to the players. He also said that Sports Academies will be constituted to provide a professional platform to the yoJ&kh of the J&K.
