Distt Science and Creativity Olympiad holds finals, grand event in collabration with Distt admin in Bandipora

Bandipora: District Science and Creativity Olympiad organized by JK Student organization held its final round on Sunday at mini-secretariat Bandipora in North Kashmir amid a grand event.

In the event with the in collaboration with academic pathways & mind-wire academy, renowned artists and known personalities around Jammu and Kashmir performed and also spoke to inspire confidence among the students who were present at the occasion in the conference hall.

Khawaja Itrat, the president of JK Student Organization, said the initiative was started sometime which included the youngsters from Bandipora back to impart soft skills among the students of JK who despite having great academic performance lacked in these skills besides we tried to explore their creativity, he added, the students showed keen interest in the secessions.

Khawaja said, “they went around 45 schools for three months and gave secessions on communication skills, etc. and in the first round held in 2019 more than 900 students participated among which 75 students qualified for 2nd round”.

However, the COVID-19 halted the exercise and “now when the situation relatively improved, the finals were held on Sunday amid all SOP’s”, he said.

Nargis Khatoon the young singing star from the valley said, that our young need this kind of platform so that it helps them choose a better career and to guide them properly these events need to gather pace”.

On Sunday well-known artists among the likes of Sufi sisters, Nargis Khatoon, RJs’ Nasir Khan, Sameen, Vijdan and Journalist Amir Peerzada among others also spoke and performed in the concluding ceremony, while Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Owais Ahmad, ACR Reyaz Beigh, CPO Bandipora, Dysp DAR, SHO Bandipora and other dignitaries also graced the occasion and later distributed mementoes and awards among the winners of the Olympiad.

Speaking on the occasion the Deputy commissioner hailed the work the organization is doing in Bandipora and Jammu and Kashmir while also announcing their support for keeping the ‘good work going on’. He appreciated the organizers and urged them to hold such events in the future too while continuing with their secessions imparting soft skills into students.
