Srinagar: Present day Kashmiri youth strongly believes that a society which desires growth has to invest in empowering the women so as to propel the process of attaining prosperity. However graph of the endeavors towards the women empowerment tends to take a downward swing at times owing to the geographical barriers and remoteness of the area.
Army however makes constant dedicated efforts to support the cause of women empowerment by facilitating AWAAM to overcome the hindrances of the nature. In pursuit of these efforts Torna Battalion under the aegis of Pir Panjal Brigade organised a Fun and Learning trip for the girl students from the remote areas of Boniyar Tehsil to Srinagar. 35 female students along with their teachers from border villages of Chotali, Sumwali, Trikanjan, Maidanan and Boniyar volunteered to join the trip.
As the saying goes traveling is learning, the trip aimed at showcasing the pristine beauty of Kashmir Valley to the students, most of whom were on their maiden trip to Srinagar. The spark in their eyes while visiting Nishat Garden, Botanical garden and Dal lake was evident and displayed their excitement. The students engaged themselves in various leisurely activities during the trip.
Their decibel levels while playing antakshari were soaring and expressing their elation. On culmination of the event students and staff expressed their gratitude to the Army and conveyed their desire of more such events in future echoing sentiment – MERA KASHMIR JANNAT THA PAR AB AUR BHI HASEEN HO RAHA HAI, MERA KASHMIR BADAL RAHA HAI.
