Srinagar: National Conference(NC) and Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has better winning percentage than the Bharatiya Janta Party(BJP) in the recently concluded district development council polls held in Jammu & Kashmir.
The records reveal that strike rate of NC and PDP was 40.9 and 39.7 percent respectively against BJP’s winning percentage of 32.6.
National Conference won 67 seats out 164 it contested, while PDP emerged victorious on 27 seats out of 68 seats on which it fielded its candidates.
On the other hand, BJP won 32.6 percent of seats it contested in Jammu & Kashmir. The party won 75 seats out of 232 segments in which it fielded its candidates.
Indian National Congress registered winning percentage of 16 as it bagged 26 seats out of 160 seats.
The newly floated Apni Party was the worst performer in winning percentage as it managed to win only seven percent of seats it contested. The party bagged just 12 seats out of 170 seats it contested.
Peoples Conference headed by Sajad Gani Lone outsmarted all parties in winning percentage as it emerged winner on 80 percent of seats it contested. The party won eight seats out of 10 it contested.
The CPI(M) was the second best performer in winning percentage as its strike rate stood at 71.4 percent. The party won five out of seven seats it contested
