JeM militants module busted in Awantipora, 6 arrested : Police

Awantipora: Awantipora Police along with 42RR and 180 BN CRPF busted a militant associate network of Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit in connection with grenade throwing incidents in Tral area of Awantipora and Sangam area of Anantnag Districts, said Jammu & Kashmir Police.
A police statement issued on Wednesday said “ those arrested been identified as Aijaz Ahmad Bhat son of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat resident of Larow Tral, Umer Jabar Dar son of Mohd Jabar Dar resident of Wagad Tral, Suhail Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Bhat resident of Dogripora Awantipora, Sameer Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Mohd Lone resident of Darganiegund Tral , Mohd Amin Khan son of Ghulam Hassan Khan and Rafiq Ahmad Khan son of Abdul Ahad Khan both residents of Handoora Tral”.
Police in it’s statement further said “ incriminating material including explosive substance has been recovered from their possession and the same have been taken into case records for further investigation and to probe their role and complicity in other militancy related crimes”.
“Preliminary investigation reveals that arrested militant associates have been in contact with Pakistani handlers and have targeted government forces by throwing grenades in recent past. They have also been involved in pasting of threat poster of election boycott in Tral area” reads the police statement.
The police in it’s statement also said that cases vide FIR Nos 99/2020 and 109/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Tral and further investigation into the cases have been initiated.
