Srinagar: Police in Srinagar have arrested one drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police statement issued on Monday said “Officers from Police Post Qamarwari arrested one person during patrolling at PC Depot Qamarwari Bund and identified him as Younis Ahmad Matta resident of Shah-i- Hamdan Colony Eidgah Srinagar”, adding that “ officers were able to recover 400 grams of Charas like substance from his possession”.
The police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 267/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Parimpora and further investigation has been initiated.
Police in it’s statement has appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law saying therein that “efforts are on to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace”.
