Srinagar: Director Fisheries Bashir Ahmad Bhat has said that promotion of pisciculture is the priority of his department and urged unemployed youth to avail the benefits of the schemes launched by the government for promotion of pisciculture in Jammu & Kashmir.
During his maiden visit to South Kashmir’s Anantnag district he visited the world famous Kokernag fish farm where he and his team was given warm welcome by Deputy Director Mohd Muzaffar Bazaz. Talking to reporters after visiting the fish farm Director Fisheries said that department is achieving the set targets and new goals in fish farming due to tireless efforts of the ground staff in the district. He hailed the efforts of all the employees of the department who, he said, revolutionised fish farming during a short span of two years across Jammu & Kashmir and particularly in Anantnag district. He also that some more targets fixed for promotion of fishing farming have to be achieved in given time for which the initiatives have to be taken to the logical ends.
