Pulwama: The Medical Superintendent (MS), District Hospital Pulwama Saturday contested the news/ video circulated on a section of social media particularly by ‘News Stock’- a News Portal regarding assigning of COVID -19 sampling job to a security guard in the district hospital.
As per the statement issued here, it has been made clear that the fake news circulated on the Social media regarding assigning of Covid-19 sampling duties to a security guard in district Hospital has no base.
The MS said that the allegations are totally baseless and scientific mechanism has been put in place as far as dealing with Covid-19 related cases are concerned.
He said that the person, who was rendering Hospital Security Services in 2017- 18 has not qualified as a successful bidder in the subsequent bidding process is the man behind circulating the video on Social media.
MS said that the person has taken the path of blackmailing besides trying to defame the efforts of doctors and health care workers in fighting against the COVID -19, adding that adherence to COVID mitigation guidelines are strictly followed.
He said that the person has used derogatory language against female employees and obstructed them from doing their duties besides intimidating and insulting them amid public.
Meanwhile an official spokesperson from the District Administration has said that such caustic / fake content has a potential to unsettle public order and appropriate action shall be taken as per relevant sections of law.
He also added that such irresponsible attitude on the part of News Portal / Person amid the public health emergency also invokes the relevant sections of DM Act 2005, Section 188 IPC and Epidemic Disease act.
The spokesperson reiterated that the administration is committed towards the goal of quality, safe and affordable health care to all . Any attempts at creating a fake & false counter narrative of spreading baseless rumors and vested propaganda shall be aptly dealt with, he added. The spokesman said that the District Hospital Pulwama besides being a premier health Institution is having a highly skillful and professional staff.
