Polling parties dispatched for Phase-VIII in Ang

Ang: For Phase-VIII of the District Development Council (DDC) elections and Panchayat/ULB by-elections, the District Administration Anantnag Friday dispatched polling parties along with poll material to their respective polling stations.
Under this phase, polling will be held for Bijbehara DDC seat, Panch and Sarpanch vacancies (where ever necessary) in this block and ULB vacancies (where ever necessary) in Municipal Committee Bijbehara on 19 December, 2020.
For DDC constituency Bijbehara, 8 candidates are in fray while 44,499 voters are going to exercise their franchise.
Meanwhile, District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Anantnag, K.K.Sidha, along with Deputy DPEO reviewed the arrangements and Basic Minimum Facilities (BMF’s) in the Polling stations like accommodation for polling staff, food, bedding, heating and lighting facilities, provision of drinking water etc besides facilities for specially-abled voters.
The DPEO exhorted for facilitating every basic amenity in the Polling stations so that voters as well as polling staff may not face any kind of inconvenience.
